Sjoerd van der Wal joined the management team at API DE GmbH in January 2026. Together with Stephan Schwartz, he will take over the strategic and operational leadership of the company. The Dutch native had only joined API as Head of Sales in July 2025—and now he is taking the next step.
International sales experience meets industry expertise
After completing his studies at the Dutch business school IVA, van der Wal began his career as a sales representative in the automotive industry. He held international positions for several years, most recently with responsibility for the Benelux, DACH, and Scandinavia regions.
With this background, he brings extensive market knowledge and a strong network to his new role.

Van der Wal is committed to long-term, trusting partnerships with customers and partners. Its goal is to work together to develop sustainable solutions for the mobility of people with disabilities.
A key focus of his first few months will be on further developing internal processes and expanding services.
