API at the 22nd RETTmobil

From May 15–17, the leading trade fair for rescue and mobility took place, as is traditional, in Fulda, East Hesse. We were there as exhibitors, together with our long-standing partner, Activa Automobilservice GmbH.

Our booth was very busy during the first two days of the trade show. The highlight of our joint presentation was the FlexiRamp for the new Renault Kangoo. Visitors could see the vehicle in person at our booth. The Kangoo is already a common sight on German roads, so there has been—and continues to be—a high demand for a custom-made FlexiRamp.

Focus on Eastern European Partners

“We had particularly productive discussions this year with larger vehicle conversion companies from Eastern Europe,” says API Managing Director Stephan Schwartz. This comes as little surprise, but it is also a welcome development. After all, the newer EU member states in particular have some catching up to do when it comes to vehicle conversions for people with disabilities.

Of course, the days in Fulda were also used to catch up with old acquaintances, learn about the latest industry developments, and maintain existing contacts. The last day of the trade show didn’t bring much that was new, according to Schwartz: “We’ll be talking to the organizers; from our perspective, shortening the event to two days would make sense. Many other exhibitors shared this opinion.”

Overall, the trade show nearly returned to pre-pandemic levels in terms of visitors and exhibitors. 483 exhibitors attracted over 30,000 trade visitors from 50 countries. In any case, we’re firmly marking the dates for the next RETTmobil—May 14–16, 2025—in our trade show calendar.
