Volkswagen is launching a new Caddy. The fifth generation is available with five different engines: one petrol engine, three diesel variants and a natural gas engine, with power outputs ranging from 75 to 130 PS. The vehicle remains robust and spacious and, according to the manufacturer, is set to match the comfort levels of a passenger car. An even better FlexiRamp for the new VW Caddy 5

Installing FlexiRamp is becoming easier and cheaper
When fitting the FlexiRamp in the L-version of the new Caddy (long wheelbase), the original fuel tank and exhaust system are retained. This saves customers money, as the conversion is significantly cheaper.
Cost savings and greater seating flexibility
When converting the Caddy to accommodate extra-long wheelchairs, the L version of the FlexiRamp tray is simply extended by adding half a tray from the S version. This gives you an XL version.
Using parts from the standard kit – such as the fuel tank, exhaust or mounting systems – makes the conversion even more affordable. This also allows for even more flexible seating options.
Zero Effort: Child’s play to use + safety
Unfolding the FlexiRamp is now even easier. At the touch of a button, the ramp lifts automatically a short way (automatic ramp release). From this position, only three kilograms of force are required to complete the unfolding process.
Safety has also been improved. If the unfolding process is interrupted, the ramp remains in position and does not fall back unchecked.
Energy efficiency: weight and fuel economy
A number of components for the new FlexiRamp have been made from aluminium. This makes the ramp between 20 and 26 kilograms lighter, depending on the model. For customers, this means lower fuel consumption. At the same time, it reduces the impact on the environment by cutting climate-damaging emissions.
Rear-end collision protection: Certified safety
With an exceptionally robust rear collision protection system, we ensure even greater safety for all passengers in the rear of the vehicle. This rear collision protection system is tested through specialized crash tests in the United States. We have also conducted such crash tests for the Ford Connect and Fiat Doblo models.
We will also use the findings from these tests to further improve passenger safety in other models. This applies, for example, to the Citroën Berlingo, Peugeot Rifter, Opel Combo, and Toyota Proace City.
LED strips illuminate the floor cutout, making it even easier to maneuver a wheelchair into the space in the dark.
